What is a Doula?
Doula means “servant-woman”
A Doula is a person who is trained to assist another woman during childbirth and who may provide support to the family after the baby is born.
A Doula helps the mother tap into her inner Goddess strength. A Doula may be the only person that is able to explore deep into the core and capture the essence of a pregnant woman's power during childbirth. Doulas, collectively, have a very important role in society and in the lives of the women they serve.
Doulas are linked to reducing the infant and maternal mortality rate, Continuous support from a doula has been associated with shorter labor time, reduced risk of C-section, and decreased likelihood in the use of medical intervention or pain relief. Having a doula can help create a positive birthing experience with overall health improvements for mom and baby.
My Philosophy + Mission
Mothering the Mother is my doula philosophy. My mission is to serve, hold space and empower the pregnant persons in my community during their birth and postpartum period.

"The moment a child is born, the mother is also born. She never existed before. The woman existed, but the mother, never. A mother is something absolutely new."
~ Rajneesh
